WHY SHOULD WE KEEP GOD’S
COMMANDMENTS?
I. ETERNAL
SALVATION is not by our works!
A. Romans 9:11 (For the children being not
yet born, neither having done any
good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not to
works, but of him that calleth;)
B. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works,
lest any man should boast.
C. II Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy
calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and
grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
D. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration,
and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
A. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law
there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge
of sin.
B. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the
works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in
Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the
works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
III. BUT GOD DOES JUDGE US HERE IN THIS LIFE BASED ON OUR WORKS:
A. Matthew
16: 27-28 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his
Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his
works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death,
till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
B. II
Corithians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment
seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,
according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Peter 1:17
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of
your sojourning here in fear:
D. Revelation
2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the
churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the
reins and hearts: and I will give every one of you according to your works.
E. Titus
3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that
thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful
to maintain good works. These things are
good and profitable unto men.
F. Psalms
37:3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt
thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
G. Hebrews
13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with
such sacrifices God is well pleased.

4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do
good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Psalms 103: 17-18 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them
that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep
his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I
have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and
I will shew thee my faith by my works.

SALVATION TO THE ETERNAL HEAVEN IS BY THE GRACE OF GOD, THE BLOOD OF JESUS
CHRIST!!!
