The Gospels of the Bible
(Good News)
Though the word “GOSPEL” is sometimes an
all-inclusive word referring to the Scriptures, there are occasions where there
is a particular truth under consideration.
For example, the “beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ” was with John
the Baptist (see Mark 1:1), even though we can look back through the Scriptures
and see Jesus throughout the Old Testament.
The thrust of the preaching of Jesus Christ was the “gospel of the
kingdom”. There is an “everlasting gospel”
which has been preached to all of God’s dear children in all ages of the world
by the Holy Spirit (not by a man). It is
important that we not allow anyone to ever distort or preach another gospel
than what is set forth in the Scriptures.
